Dragons, galactic warlords, artists, settlers, explorers, divers, scientists, tile layers, and dwarves. Through the afternoon, into the cool of the evening on 21st January 2023, twenty-five gamers gathered to enjoy a varied selection of fun board games including all those characters and more.
Look at this incredibly varied list of games we played:

- Century: A New World

Narelle, L’nett, Marion and Tim played Dive. A unique game of observation, push-your-luck, and depth estimation. The scoreboard picture above shows us all one point apart on the scoreboard part way through. Marion finally won with a clear victory.

Dragon Castle looked good on the table. Using mahjong like tiles to create a city with shrines. James, Marion and Narelle played a close game, all finishing within 1 point of each other. Narelle said it was, “Lots of fun.”
Looking forward to our next event on 4th February, click here for details.
Eclipse Battle Report
Talita, Carl, Pat, Haydn, Belinda and myself had another epic game of Eclipse: Second Dawn of the Galaxy. It was Belinda’s first game. Everyone started peacefully, with Haydn expanding rapidly, and making peace treaties with Mike and brokered a tentative peace with Belinda.
Mike took over Portals to cover his backside and played a “boring little euro game”. 😜 Carl and Talita became allies… and then it became obvious that Talita wanted to try eliminating Pat. The combat had started!
Carl tried to recreate the original Star Wars by attack the “Death Star” with his white fleet… and only one little interceptor. He failed to hit the exhaust and instead vaporised the Death Star!
After claiming the Center, Carl then decided to BETRAY Talita…

Holding that traitor card so proudly. With nothing to lose, Carl went full-traitor and attacked innocent (sort of innocent😜) Mike’s yellow peaceful empire.
Some cosmic frogs got into the action for some cross franchise shenanigans… and finally the game ended with Pat eliminating Talita, and Carl/haydn turtling up in the final round.
Game ended with HAYDN our new galactic overlord! Treacherous Turtle (Carl) came second… and received a call from Emperor Palpatine shortly after with a job offer. 😜 Lots of fun and laughs. Thanks to everyone for playing (and reading this nonsense)

Thanks to Mike for contributing this article.
