The CBG event on 19/11/2022 was fairly sparse with only three tables active at the start. Later in the afternoon some more folk arrived to increase the table count. Must be that busy time of the year, I guess.

‘The skylines are the limit’ in Expancity, an older game from 2018 that came out for the first time at this event. Michael, Phil, Henry and I worked alongside each other to build a magnificent city. The 3-D building levels are fun to use and place on strategic locations. When each building is ‘capped’ it is scored, taking into account positive and negative point modifiers in the surrounding city blocks. Opponents may place negative modifiers next to a building before it can be capped and scored!
At the start of each turn, a tile must be placed. Then perform three actions, choosing from:
1. Place a building floor in the city, or
2. Collect more building materials to use.
Having only two actions seems too simple but the rhythm and interaction in the game is very interesting and leads to some interesting situations
Ask Michael for a game of Expancity. Just make sure when he is adding some points to your score, he does not move his own scoring token every time!
Guy had another new game called Rhino Hero. This time building a house of cards and moving a meeple between floors. Lots of fun 😀
An Eclipse battle report from Mike:
For those at CBG last night, you would have seen our huge six player game of Eclipse taking up the corner. Everyone was quite defensive with lots of ‘safe exploring’.
Until Katy killed the giant “space egg”…
And Cat gained the coveted “traitor” card with an epic battle with Dave… so much dice rolling!

Great game. And victory was had by Katy (red). All hail our new Galactic Empress! 😎
