Thanks everyone for a fun CBG tonight. I played “Dogs Of War” with Jared & Kathryn. The miniature’s had outrageous hats! This was a fast, tense low-complexity game… Jared won (of course) but it was a lot of fun right up to the end.

Next we played a four player game of Five Tribes – another top 100 game on BGG. Who does love a game with lots of meeples. 😉

Lastly, Talita broke out her Kickstarter copy of Fighters of the Pacific. A light [o]war-game[/o] but with tough decisions and strategy. Despite Josh’s positivity that “Mike can do it”, let’s just say it didn’t end well for the Japanese. 😬 But great fun!

We had a lot of fun with Yedo – trying to earn prestige and earn favour in the eyes of the new Shogun (Or deciding we don’t think he is good for the city of Yedo (now called Tokyo) and kill him and be successful in other missions too.

Dave ended up just sneaking past L’nett for the win. No one was able to Kill the Shogun. I got so close but everyone else started to realise it and started cutting me out of areas I needed to be in, not allowing any of my special actions to be played either, ooh what fun. Katy really wanted to flip the table against L’nett and I midgame as this game being a bidding and tight worker placement game, means you can end up blocking people out of a district till the next round, and L’nett locked her out one round and then I did the following round.

It is a fantastic game. If you ever want to learn a game of Yedo, please ask me to bring it and teach it to you, I really enjoy teaching games, especially great games like this one.
