Oceans is a game about managing cards to grow species of fish and see their populations swell. The image above shows Talita’s extreme predator with 18 attack, 6 shells and the ability to feed 4 times. Dominating the table with this predator species, Talita terrorised the table, feeding off everyone else. Carl was persistent with another smaller predator and ended up in a tie for points, winning with the most traits. Well done Carl!

Namiji is the newly released reimplementation of the travel game Tokaido from 2017. Presented with the same style of beautiful art and aesthetic, this game has players sailing a boat through the landscape, stopping to take photos of spectacular aquatic panoramas, engaging in various types of fishing and other nautical action spaces. The fish collected are arranged on a grid to gain points by lining up colour and/or type. New game mechanics make Namiji a slightly deeper game than its predecessor but is still a peaceful, relaxing experience to play.

Another new game was CATAN: Dawn of Humankind. The game contains tracks that sit beside the main game board, resources to collect and a world shaped board providing players with additional options. Narelle said that these brought a fresh feel to CATAN providing more contemporary decisions than the original.
